The pilot Patrick Von Känel, equipped by Lurbel, finishes eighth in the Red Bull X Alps 2019

Patrick Von Känel has just finished one of the most important paragliding competitions in the world – the Red Bull X Alps. And he has done it in eighth position (out of thirty participants) and, at only 24 years old, he is also the youngest pilot in the edition.

The sportsman is one of the most prominent athletes, and has been slated as the next Christian Maurer, the 2019 winner and a true mentor to Patrick.

The Swiss athlete used Lurbel clothes, shorts and socks throughout the 10 days, 13 hours and 46 minutes that it took to travel from Salzburg to Monaco.  We spotted him wearing the new thermoregulating short sleeve t-shirt with iDT , Cristallo, the thermoregulating long sleeved Cumbre, the Juno shorts as well as the below the knee Bmax Compressive Running socks Horus

During the section with the longest walking distance, we also spotted the Ultralight Essential t-shirt.

In this spectacular test, pilots can only paraglide and walk in order to cover the 800km stretch of Alps that connect Salzburg to Monaco, crossing Austria, Germany, Italy, France and Switzerland.
