Lurbel receives the ‘Reduzco’ (Reduce) seal from the Ministry for Ecological Transition

The Valencian technical sportswear brand, Lurbel, continues to work towards achieving sustainability, one of main features of the brands with which the company wishes to establish itself at the forefront of innovation.

That is why, over the last few years, Lurbel has calculated the carbon footprint (CF) of its own activity, for both its production activity and the distribution of its garments developed in its only headquarters in Ontinyent (Valencia), during the period from 2017 to 2019.

During this period, Lurbel has adopted a series of measures aimed at reducing its emissions such as, for example, the installation of a photovoltaic system for self-consumption on the roof of the main facilities of the brand located in Ontinyent (Valencia) and the integral renovation of the machinery of the ironing and weaving line, the latter with ‘GREEN CERTIFIED’ seal that guarantees high performance and a drastic reduction of energy consumption.

With all this, a reduction of 20.53 % of the average emission intensity has been achieved over the three-year period 2018-2020 compared to the initially calculated three-year period (2017-2019).

Carbon Footprint Registry

The Ministry's Carbon Footprint Registry is an official registry, in which organisations are registered on a voluntary basis and consists of three sections: carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emission reduction commitments; CO2 absorption projects and carbon footprint offsetting. Once the footprint, the total amount of greenhouse gases emitted by an individual, organisation, event or product, is calculated, it is possible to implement a strategy to reduce and/or offset these emissions.

Lurbel is committed to continue working in this direction to reduce the emissions and environmental impact of its activities as much as possible.
